To celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the Summer Sampler, Faith Jones, Lee Heinrich and Katie Blakesley are rereleasing their summer sampler from 2011.
The seventh block, Six Pointed Star Block, was originally released in 2011 by Katie Blakesley of Swim Bike Quilt. The refreshed blog post was published on March 31, 2021. The tutorial can be found here. I’m using fabrics found in Quilted Connection’s shop: Aquarelle from Art Gallery and White Modern Geo Class by Violet Craft for Robert Kaufman for the background.
This block has 60 degree triangles in it which with the right ruler are really easy to cut and and sew. I decided to use the Hex N More ruler designed by Julie Herman of Jaybird Quilts. It made quick work of cutting the triangles and the notch at the end of the triangle helps to know where the piece should be placed so you get that accurate quarter inch every time!
When sewing the rows together I followed the instructions exactly. I used a pin to make sure each point matched. I am really pleased with how this block came out!
The Six Pointed Star Block is by far my favorite of all the blocks in this sampler!
