Christmas Garland Class | Sunday December 8th

Unwrap the magic of the holiday season with our festive sewing class! Learn how to craft dazzling Christmas garland adorned with twinkling lightbulbs, sweet candy canes, and charming Christmas trees. Perfect for beginners and seasoned crafters alike, this workshop will guide you through creating a unique and whimsical sewing project!

✨ We have 4 classroom sewing machines - if you need to use one for this class, please call to reserve your machine. These are first come, first serve. Otherwise, you will need to provide your own sewing machine!

Class Supply List

• 9x12” felt sheets in various colors - lights and holiday shapes
  • Christmas lights - 1 sheet of green, 1 sheet each of 5 colors for lights makes 15-20 lights per sheet
  • Candy canes - 1 sheet of white, 1 sheet of stripe color makes 4 candy canes
  • Trees - 1 sheet of green makes 3 trees
  • Stars - 1 sheet of yellow makes 2 stars
    
    
• Scrappy Garland
  • Felt, fabric, and/or yarn scraps in desired colors
  • Pieces should be at least 4-6” long and can be cut to size (roughly 4” x 1” or 6” x 1” depending on preference)
    
    
• Thread and needle for stringing garland - I used 8 weight cotton thread
• Scissors for cutting paper
• Scissors for cutting felt
• Fiber fill or fabric/felt scraps for stuffing
• Chopstick (optional - helps with stuffing shapes)
• Pen (optional - for marking pattern on felt)
• Fabric glue (optional - for candy cane stripes, sample used Beacon Adhesives Fabri-tac)
• Basic Sewing Supplies
• For hand sewing: 
  • Thread - I used 8 weight cotton thread for a visible stitch, but you could use thinner thread for less visible stitching
  • Hand sewing needle appropriate to thread weight

• For machine sewing: 
  • Universal needle (size 80)
  • All purpose thread
  • Pins or clips (optional)
