Create a beautiful, durable Jelly Roll Rug while learning techniques that will help you tackle future projects with confidence! In this 4 part series, students will learn how to prepare fabric strips, create and manage fabric tubes, and construct a finished rug while mastering machine settings, troubleshooting, and techniques that make the process enjoyable and stress-free.
By the end of the class, you'll have the skills - and likely a nearly finished rug - to complete a stunning home décor project made entirely from a single Jelly Roll!

✨ We have 2 classroom sewing machines - if you need to use one for this class, please call to reserve your machine. These are first come, first serve. Otherwise, you will need to provide your own sewing machine!

Sewing Equipment
- Functioning, tuned up sewing machine that does straight and zig zag stitches
- Sewing machine extension table
- Six pre-wound bobbins
- One package of size 90 topstitch needles
Materials
- One Jelly Roll
- Jelly Roll Batting Strips (matching your Jelly Roll)
- At least 1,450 yards of coordinating or matching thread
Tools & Notions
- Small iron and pressing surface
- Small spray water bottle
- Large, sharp fabric scissors
- Purple Thang
- Clover Fabric Tube Maker
Small Rug Option
The following items replace the standard rug requirements where noted. Any items not listed differently should remain the same as the standard supply list.
- 1 Jelly Roll
OR
- 3 yards of fabric total (we recommend three coordinating fabrics, 1 yard each)
Batting
- Pre-cut Jelly Roll batting strips or
- 2¼" batting strips
Thread
- 1 spool of coordinating or matching thread
- The instructor recommends Aurifil thread, as one spool is typically sufficient for a small rug
Machine Supplies
- 5 or more loaded bobbins specific to your machine
Class Policy
Class Policy
Our classes require planning and preparation in advance including ordering materials and supplies, scheduling teachers and reserving our classroom space. When students request cancellations or reschedule at the last minute, it affects all of the above in addition to taking away a spot from someone who wanted to take the class.
We are unable to make exceptions to our policy listed below. That includes for reasons of illness, travel, or work. If you are unable to attend a class at the last minute, please consider offering the spot to a friend!
If Calliope Quilts cancels a class for any reason, you will receive a FULL refund.If you wish to cancel 14 days or more before the date of your class, you will receive full credit towards another class within 6 months of the original class date. If you cancel a rescheduled class, you will forfeit your payment for that class.If you cancel 2-13 daysbefore the date of your class, you will receive a full credit to use towards another class within 3 months of the original class date. If you cancel a rescheduled class, you will forfeit your payment for that class.If you do not cancel your class within 48 hours of the class start date and time OR you do not show up, you will forfeit your payment for that class.If you register for an event or class with a guest educator, your class fee is nonrefundable.
