Prerequisites: Must have sewing experience such as sewing a straight line, winding a bobbin and threading the needle.

You've got the basics down... now it's time to really have some fun! This intermediate series is for kids who completed the Intro Series and are ready to tackle bigger, bolder projects. You already know your way around a sewing machine, so let's put those skills to work and make some seriously impressive things!
Over 4 sessions, you'll make:
✨ Stripy Quilt: your first quilt! Yes, really. You've got this.
✨ Fold Up Tote: a bag you'll actually use every single day
✨ Sturdy Fabric Basket: strong, stylish, and made by you
✨ Bonus projects (if we're on a roll!): Backpack Zipper Pouch & Pixie Basket
By the end, you'll have a collection of makes that prove just how far you've come - and skills that will stick with you way beyond summer!

✨ We have 2 classroom sewing machines - if you need to use one for this class, please call to reserve your machine. These are first come, first serve. Otherwise, you will need to provide your own sewing machine!

Please Note: All required fabric should be 100% non-stretch cotton (quilting cotton).
✨ Stripy Quilt: 1 yd for quilt back, Four (4) ¼ yd cuts (NOT Fat Quarters), 1 yd batting, coordinating embroidery floss of perle cotton
✨ Fold Up Tote: Two (2) 1 yd main fabric, 2 yds ribbon or ½” twill tape
✨ Sturdy Fabric Basket: Fat Quarter main fabric, Fat quarter lining fabric, ultra firm, single sided fusible stabilizer (Ex. Peltex 71F) tape
✨ Additional Projects (if time):
- Backpack Zipper Pouch: 6-9” zipper, Fat Quarter
- Pixie Basket: 3 coordinating 10” squares, 5” twill tape 5/8” wide
✨ Basic Sewing Supplies: Coordinating thread, Scissors, Seam ripper, Straight pins, Hand sewing needles, Machine sewing needles, Marking tool, Sewing machine and accessories
Class Policy
Class Policy
Our classes require planning and preparation in advance including ordering materials and supplies, scheduling teachers and reserving our classroom space. When students request cancellations or reschedule at the last minute, it affects all of the above in addition to taking away a spot from someone who wanted to take the class.
We are unable to make exceptions to our policy listed below. That includes for reasons of illness, travel, or work. If you are unable to attend a class at the last minute, please consider offering the spot to a friend!
If Calliope Quilts cancels a class for any reason, you will receive a FULL refund.If you wish to cancel 14 days or more before the date of your class, you will receive full credit towards another class within 6 months of the original class date. If you cancel a rescheduled class, you will forfeit your payment for that class.If you cancel 2-13 daysbefore the date of your class, you will receive a full credit to use towards another class within 3 months of the original class date. If you cancel a rescheduled class, you will forfeit your payment for that class.If you do not cancel your class within 48 hours of the class start date and time OR you do not show up, you will forfeit your payment for that class.If you register for an event or class with a guest educator, your class fee is nonrefundable.
